We have our fingers crossed

Happy New Year. It has not been a good year for the members of the Association of Friends we have just left. We have had access to some samples, but not nearly to the extent we would have liked.

The authorities have decided that we won't be in DR-Byen until after 17 January. And it has hardly escaped anyone's attention that experts have already started talking about the restrictions being extended further.

We're in constant contact with DR, who are still in the same state of ignorance about when it will be possible to play concerts with an audience in the hall again. As soon as there is news - and hopefully good news - we will let you know.

The plans for the season are finalised, but are still changing. It's not just about the lack of public access. It's also about quarantine rules for travelling conductors and soloists. And they change all the time.

Vi rates DR will be able to start selling tickets for the rehearsals at the beginning of February, but we must recognise that we will probably have to wait until March before it will be possible to open the halls for rehearsals. As mentioned, we will send out the programme and dates for ticket sales etc. as soon as we have something concrete. But there's no point in setting the whole apparatus in motion and then rolling it back shortly afterwards because the restrictions weren't lifted anyway and the concerts and rehearsals will be cancelled.

We were fortunate to complete events in 2021, including a general assembly with a rich music programme and extra scholarships for musicians and singers who have thanked the appreciation of the Friends' members. Without your loyalty in tough times, there is no association.

Fortunately, the Friends are still intact and ready to serve members as soon as we get the chance.

See you in 2022, fingers crossed and thanks for understanding.
