I was born in 1977 in Copenhagen.
I play double bass.
I started music because my mum forced me to play guitar when I was 11 years old. However, I quickly developed an interest in it.
I joined DR in 2007. In addition to DR, I play in the New-Flok band “Hjertebarn” and the jazz trio “Plexi-jazz”.
I love all music with guitar.
The hardest I ever played was Ligeti's Chamber Concerto. The last two pages are hard but fun!
My name is Tore Asbjørn Hansen, and I have been singing first bass in DR KoncertKoret since January 2010. After playing a variety of instruments as a child, I started a musicology programme at Aarhus University, which was later replaced by an education as a classical singer, first at Vestjysk Musikkonservatorium, then at Det Jyske Musikkonservatorium.
In addition to my position at DR, I freelance all over the place and have also worked with the choir of the Jutland Opera. I also enjoy my work with the Jutland Vocal Ensemble and collaborating with the baroque orchestra Ensemble Zimmermann and Copenhagen Soloists.
I enjoy making music with original instruments because you get closer to the composer's ideal sound and don't have to ”compensate” for the intervening 200 years of instrument development.
The most difficult thing I've been exposed to as a singer was probably Niccolò Castiglioni's Salmo XIX, which DR recorded in 2014 with Gianandrea Noseda, and Daníel Bjarnason deserves a mention when he realised what he had put the choir through in his opera ”Brothers” in 2017, and therefore reduced a passage to something that was still immensely difficult but still possible to sing on stage.
