When this year's PULSAR festival has its opening concert on 5 March at 19:30, the DR Symphony Orchestra will be on stage in the Conservatory's Concert Hall - the old Radiohuset concert hall, where many of the musicians played daily before moving to DR-Byen.
They will perform a work that the Los Angeles Philharmonic and the Danish National Symphony Orchestra have jointly commissioned from American composer Julia Wolfe. The dynamic New York-based ensemble Bang on a Can All Stars will also take part in the concert.
The following day - 6 March at 17:00 - you can hear the DR VokalEnsemblet on the Study Stage, also in the old Radiohus.
For a whole week, the PULSAR Festival presents 21st-century music in all its forms, from the aforementioned first performance in the main hall to total spatial 3D sound experiences with 44 speakers and 4 subwoofers in a spherical suspension. As in previous years, the Academy of Music is collaborating with the Academy of Fine Arts' Schools of Visual Arts on the festival.
Among other things, you can hear the Conservatory's young composers give their take on what the music of our century should sound like.
For all events, admission is free and all you have to do is turn up.
