Change of manager at Koncerthuset

The savings in DR as a result of the Media Agreement and the Public Service Contract will, as previously mentioned, spare the choir and orchestra. But there will be changes in the administration. The head of the Concert Hall, Leif Lønsmann, is leaving DR, while the Head of Choir and Orchestra, Kim Bohr, will not only be in charge of musicians and singers, but now also of the building that provides the framework for music in DR.

The Danish Society of Friends welcomes Kim Bohr to the new role.

According to the association's statutes, as director of choir and orchestra, he is a born member of our board of directors.

With this new role, he will also be the main person responsible for agreeing the conditions for our presence in the Concert Hall during dress rehearsals and other rehearsals.

In theory, this could lead to conflicts of interest, which is why the board and Kim Bohr have agreed that he will resign from the board at the upcoming general meeting on 8 October, but that he will participate without voting rights in the association's board meetings.

As a consequence, the Board of Directors will propose the changes at the Annual General Meeting in October

The board is happy with this solution. Kim Bohr has done a great deal of work for the organisation, and we don't want to do without the contact to the House, which he has guaranteed until now. And fortunately, he will continue to do so in the future, but without direct influence on the organisation's dispositions.

On the board, we have experienced a positive collaboration with the former head of the Concert Hall, Leif Lønsmann. We have every reason to thank him for this, and we would also like to wish ”Løns”, as he is colloquially known, all the best for the future outside DR, which he has served for 40 years. Part of that time as Director of Radio, who at the time also had overall responsibility for choirs and orchestras.
