Welcome online!

Dear members of the Circle of Friends

Nothing is more important to our organisation than contact with its almost 3000 members. It is therefore with great pleasure and pride that we can today present the Friends' new website, which will make it much easier, faster and more presentable to bring the organisation's many offers to its members.

But that's not all.

Our new website is intended to include stories that will further strengthen the contact between DR's choirs and orchestras and their ambassadors in the Society of Friends.

At the association's general meeting, it was decided to change the name so that it is easy to remember, and so that it indicates that we now include the symphony orchestra as well as all choirs and the Big Band. In future, we will therefore be called Venneforeningen for DR's Choirs and Orchestras instead of the previously so long and definitely not very colloquial name.

The organisation has gained a lot of support in recent years. Many people take advantage of the opportunity to get into the orchestra's engine room at the dress rehearsals for the concerts. But the Friends also offer travelling, concerts in places other than DR Byen, unique offers on CDs and DVDs and much more.

Members also make it possible to award scholarships to some of the ensembles' talented musicians and singers and to support special events at home and abroad where the ensembles are involved. As stated elsewhere on our new website members of the Friends have also made it possible for the symphony orchestra to buy a set of church bells, which is a lasting gift. They can be enjoyed by concertgoers in the Concert Hall or at home in front of the speakers and provide a completely different sound and authenticity than the chimes that have been used so far.

Now we're in even closer contact with our members through the new website. Please use it. We will initially send you an email to let you know when there is important news on the site, but otherwise it is the board's hope that you will find the site so inspiring that it becomes a habit to look for news, offers and background stories about the ensembles we all love. We will also take the opportunity to bring audio from the ensembles to the members via the website.

Have a great time.
